Wasabi Furikake, 0.91 oz

by Kameya
$6.40

Wasabi Furikake is a savory sprinkle that has been enjoyed in Japan for over 30 years. It features premium “hon wasabi” (literally meaning “real wasabi”) grown in pristine streams in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan’s top wasabi-producing region. The pungent sensation coming from the wasabi stems creates a perfect harmony with flavorful and aromatic ingredients, including toasted sesame, bonito flakes, nori seaweed, rice crackers, matcha green tea, and soy sauce. The different types of crunchiness of this furikake add an enjoyable accent to a dish. When sprinkled over freshly cooked rice, the steam rising from the rice brings the appetizing aroma straight to your nose. Since the furikake has a substantial kick and multi-layered flavors, it can spice up dishes like noodles, fried rice, donburi rice bowls, or edamame. You can use it for Western dishes like pasta, avocado toast, and popcorn as well.

The most classic way to enjoy Wasabi Furikake is to sprinkle it over cooked rice or to dust rice balls with it. However, in Japan, it is commonly used for seasoning natto, soba noodles, sushi rolls, edamame or salad to add a twist and kick. You can also use it as a topping for egg dishes, pasta, donburi rice bowls, poke bowls, tuna or salmon tartare, and avocado toast. If you’d like to spice up your snacks, shake Wasabi Furikake onto popcorn or potato chips making sure to coat everything evenly. Or mix it into mayonnaise or cream cheese to make your own original dip!
