Hojicha (roasted green tea) boasts an earthy aroma and a well-rounded taste with no bitterness. Also, it contains less caffeine compared to regular green tea. This instant purin mix is made with the particularly aromatic “kuki hojicha” (hojicha made with green tea stems) selected by Morihan’s master tea blender, Masaru Kikuoka. Just add hot water to the mix, let it cool for a couple of hours, and you’ll have a smooth and fluffy purin with a nutty hojicha aroma, milky rich taste, and an enticing reddish-brown color.

1. Put a bag of mix into a bowl.
2. Add 250ml (1 cup) hot water (194F or higher), and stir well for about 1 minute.
3. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
You can enjoy the purin with a variety of toppings such as candied chestnuts, whipped cream, red bean paste, “kinako” (soy bean powder), black sesame powder, vanilla ice cream, mochi, or crunchy cereal.
