Maeda’s Premium White Rice “Himenorin” is a pre-cooked, single-use package of thermo-stabilized rice. If you microwave it, you can create freshly cooked rice in just two minutes! This convenient, shelf-stable rice is made of Himenorin variety rice developed in Ehime Prefecture. The Himenorin rice boasts a large grain size with a clear color, and once it’s cooked, it exhibits a satisfying bite and chewy texture. It also releases a gentle sweetness as you eat it. These features complement dishes like curry rice or donburi bowls because the rice retains its shape and flavor without becoming soggy from soupy sauces. Its sweetness goes well with various foods cooked with meat, seafood, and vegetables. Since it’s thermo-stabilized, no refrigeration is necessary for storage.
Since it’s pre-cooked, you can easily heat it up in the microwave. Partially peel the cover of the package to open, put it in the microwave, and cook it for 100-120 seconds depending on your microwave. If you prefer cooking in a pot, without peeling off the cover, put the Himenorin package in boiling water for 15 minutes.
