Izumo Green Tea, 1.76 oz
Tosui-en’s supreme sencha is made from the highest quality green tea leaves selected from the first flush of tea harvested in May from their own tea plantation located in the Izumo region in Shimane Prefecture. It exhibits a refreshing aroma and robust umami, and has won the first prize for 10 consecutive years in the Annual Green Tea Contest in the prefecture known for its established green tea culture. Since its foundation in 1907, Tousui-en has cultivated tea in its own tea plantation, manufactured and packed tea products in their own factory, and sold them. Under the supervision of their master tea blender and certified green tea instructor, they produce the highest-quality Izumo green tea to customers.
1) Add 1-1 ½ teaspoons (3 grams) of green tea leaves in a teapot.
2) Bring water to a boil, remove from the heat, and wait until the temperature drops to 175°F (about 80°C).
3) Add ¼ cup of the water at 175°F and steep for 40-50 seconds.
4) Gently pour the tea into a cup through a tea strainer to catch the tea leaves.
